Why don't you offer a monthly subscription?Pay a one time fee instead of a subscription which you may not be using (life sometimes happens right?).
-
Why is there a 365 day limit on each course? You will have up to 365 days to complete each course, even though most students finish each course within a few months. This provides you with a deadline to motivate you, but not to overwhelm you or to rush you. When purchasing the course, you can decide what day you want it to start.
-
What should I expect with each course? One small step at a time which is marked off as you make progress through the course. Know where to start, where you are at and where you are going.

Which course should I start with?If you are new to Mirka's program then we suggest that you start at the beginning. Even if you are an experienced horse person. We need to make sure that you do not miss any of the important foundational steps which you will build on, that you get clarity in the system of cues and do not miss any other very important details. There are 2 very important theoretical Foundation Courses - Become Unstoppable, Connection and Harmony, which you can take along with the practical course. Make sure to sign up for those as 80% of your success will depend on the knowledge gained in those courses! In the practical courses, start with the Intro Posture Focusedâ„¢ (PFT) Course, then go to the Novice PFT Course and then go to the Intro Liberty Course, Novice and then Intermediate. It is very important that you start in the PFT courses before the liberty courses as those are the prerequisites to liberty and will take confusion out and bring more clarity in for you and your horse. Confusion is the #1 reason of disconnect at liberty! Plus your horse will achieve a better balance to be able to hold himself on the liberty circles without crowding you or leaking away from you.

How do I know if I'm ready to move to the next course? To complete each of the Levels, each student will submit a 10-minute video and receive feedback personally from Mirka. She will then either pass the assessment or give you pointers on how to achieve a better quality at that particular level. This assessment serves as a check point before advancing to the next level, so the next level isn't a struggle for you and your horse. Anyone can move to the next level without this assessment, but it is not recommended.
-
Will it always be the same horse?Horses in these courses are at the particular level shown, so you will see Mirka troubleshoot common tendencies. There will be more than one horse in each course to demonstrate the process. Usually, one more sensitive with more go (maybe even slightly emotional) and the other less responsive (maybe even acting pushy and dominant) with more whoa.
-
Where can I ask questions and get support?Once you purchase each course, you will be able to share your progress with other students who are in the course. You can comment, ask Mirka or other students questions or share a video of your progress. This private social group is built within this website (not on social media).

What is Posture Focused Trainingâ„¢, or PFT?Posture Focused Trainingâ„¢ is Mirka's signature phrase for her approach to horse training which encourages lateral and vertical balance resulting in the horse's better self-carriage. It's an approach to horse training which addresses the physical struggles which most horses face during training.
-
Why is Posture Focused Training™ important? One of the biggest fears of any horse is the fear of falling down. It's the fear of not just getting hurt, but also the fear of potentially being eaten by a predator. It is based on the horse's innate instinct of self-preservation. They have it, we have it. When the horse is leaning, either to the side, or carrying more weight over the front feet, he will feel as if he is about to fall down. Self-preservation kicks in and the horse tenses up to prevent this fall from happening. At liberty, the horse might drift away from us and disconnect as a result, on the lunge line he might pull on the line and during a ride we will feel this problem as tension in the reins. The PFT addresses this problem early on in the training, on day one! As one progresses with the PFT approach, the horse becomes more relaxed, more connected and more athletic!
-
How do you get your horse to collect at liberty and bridleless? This is probably the most commonly asked question. Collected self-carriage can be established through Lateral Maneuvers and Transitions. This 30-minute video below explains this in detail, all the way to flying lead changes at the shoulder at liberty. The PFT Online Courses will teach you how to achieve it using a step-by-step program.

What are the benefits of Posture Focused Trainingâ„¢?BENEFITS of Posture Focused Training: Attentiveness - Mental Focus Relaxation Level Lateral and Vertical Balance Strength Quality of Stride Engagement Power/Athleticism Collection Connection Harmony It makes everything easier for your horse and you! The greatest benefit for my horses have been their increased longevity and health! The PFT has also helped improve the connection with my horses at liberty. Think about it! If the horse is traveling on a circle and is either falling in like a motorcycle on top of me, or is leaning away from me, the feel good moments will be lost and the connection will suffer. Even worse, the horse leaves as a result of his lack of balance, not because he doesn't like working with you!
