About

Embark on your Liberty journey with our Introductory Level 1 Liberty Course! This program is designed to help you establish a solid foundation in liberty training by enhancing your communication skills, promoting relaxation, and fostering a deep connection and harmony with your horse. You'll start with an overview of the necessary prerequisites, which you can complete through our PFT Intro and Novice Courses. The course covers essential liberty work at the shoulder and at various distances within a confined area. You'll master downward and upward transitions (trot-walk-stop-back up), inside and outside circles, the shoulder switch, the stop cue, and sideways movements in front of you using two sticks. Additionally, you'll learn the first step of the lay down (both stick method and no rope method), work with different circle sizes, and practice liberty draw to the shoulder and changes of direction. The course features two horses at this level, each with unique challenges and learning curves. One horse is slightly reactive and overly sensitive, while the other is more laid-back but easily distracted. You'll witness their training process, including corrections and adjustments, providing you with valuable insights into handling different horse personalities. Join us and build a strong liberty foundation that will set you and your horse on the path to success!
